Summary
The role of the Lead Universal Banker is to assist in the oversight of the Universal Banker responsibilities for Oskaloosa. The Universal Banker is responsible for establishing, retaining, and deepening customer relationships by performing efficient and accurate banking transactions, working the teller line, handling loan requests, and opening and closing accounts in support of Bank priorities and strategic objectives. This role will report to the Operations and Compliance Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Oversees teller activities, maintains records of vault and teller station cash balances, and oversees currency accounts. Provides on‐the‐job training for tellers on an as‐needed basis. Monitors tellers to ensure compliance with financial institution procedures and policies. Issues written and oral instructions on teller operations as necessary.
* Responsible for supporting operational procedures and practices within the branch. Supports the oversight of branch regulatory compliance.
* Supports Controls and reports branch losses. Manages and maintains branch software applications.
* Accurately opens and closes accounts in accordance to operating controls, including legal, corporate, and regulatory procedures to ensure the safety and security of customer assets
* Assist customers with loan requests and processes which includes taking an application, collecting the required documentation for the loan, discussing the request with an approver, and closing the deal
* Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the new accounts system database to manage and maintain customer account information
* Performs duties for entry/exit for safe deposit box customers, and opens and closes safe deposit boxes by following safe deposit box policies and procedures
* Assists customers with telephone inquiries to provide solutions to their banking needs
* Assists customers with routine account-related requests; researches and resolves account service inquiries/issues; and responds to client inquiries promptly, effectively, and professionally
* Performs teller responsibilities in accordance with the Teller job description
* Utilizes excellent customer service to build relationships by actively recommending new and existing products and services to current and potential customers
* Assists with efforts to identify and implement a positive overall customer experience
* Contributes towards fostering teamwork within the department
* Assist in Compliance Review and Bank Secrecy Act
* May assist the Cashier and Controller on reports and data entry
* Performs other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
* High school diploma or GED equivalent
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a customer-facing support role
* Teller or banking customer service experience a plus but not required
* Ability to learn solid understanding of banking principles and regulations
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and math aptitude
* Strong written and verbal presentation skills
* Must have the ability to handle high pressure situations while maintaining composure
* Attention to detail is critical
