Summary
The Senior Business & Wealth Banker is a high-impact relationship leader responsible for managing and expanding a sophisticated commercial portfolio exceeding $60MM in total commitments across approximately 40 complex credit relationships.
This role serves as both a strategic advisor to high-net-worth business owners and a senior credit voice within the Bank. In addition to portfolio leadership, this position contributes meaningfully to Loan Committee deliberations, credit governance, asset quality monitoring, and balance sheet strategy support through ALCO engagement.
The ideal candidate combines elite credit structuring capability with strong relationship depth, disciplined portfolio oversight, and a mindset aligned with growth and risk stewardship.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Portfolio Leadership & Relationship Management
Strategic Advisor
- Serve as primary banker to 40+ established commercial and high-net-worth clients.
- Deliver holistic banking solutions including commercial lending, treasury management, deposits, and wealth advisory coordination.
- Develop long-term advisory relationships built on trust, responsiveness, and technical excellence.
Credit Architect
- Structure and underwrite complex transactions including:
- Owner-occupied and investment CRE
- C&I lines of credit
- Acquisition transactions
- SBA
- Global cash flow and multi-entity credit structures
- Prepare comprehensive credit presentations for Loan Committee approval.
Growth Leadership
- Grow portfolio commitments by 10%–20% annually through disciplined prospecting, relationship expansion, and centers-of-influence partnerships.
- Identify new revenue opportunities within existing relationships.
2. Credit Governance & Risk Leadership
Loan Committee Participation
- Serve as a senior voice within Loan Committee discussions.
- Provide independent deal analysis, risk mitigation strategies, and concentration awareness.
- Uphold credit culture and policy integrity.
Portfolio Monitoring Excellence
- Maintain 100% compliance with:
- Annual reviews
- Covenant monitoring
- Borrowing base certificates
- Risk rating integrity
- Identify early warning indicators and proactively manage credit risk.
Problem Credit & Workout Leadership
- Assist in leading identification and resolution of deteriorating credits.
- Develop and execute workout strategies including:
- Restructuring plans
- Forbearance agreements
- Collateral enhancements
- Negotiated settlements
- Protect asset quality and minimize potential loss.
ALCO & Balance Sheet Contribution
- Support Asset Liability Committee with insight into portfolio composition, repricing risk, concentration exposure, and loan growth strategy.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of credit analysis and commercial underwriting experience
- 5+ years managing commercial loan portfolios
- Demonstrated experience structuring complex transactions
- Advanced global cash flow analysis expertise
- Strong written and verbal credit presentation skills
- Experience participating in Loan Committee or similar governance setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate of Banking School or Commercial Lending School
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Credit Risk Certification (CRC)
- Experience working with high-net-worth business owners
